Beacon Hill Aerie

Thoughtforms renovated the top floors and roof deck of this 1886 building on Beacon Hill. The unit was modernized throughout, and the connection between floors was opened up to bring light and a more expansive feel to the spaces. Perched high above Boston Common—America’s oldest public park—the rooftop offers both a sense of seclusion and a strong sense of place, with views encompassing the Statehouse, Back Bay, and the Charles River into Cambridge. Creating a full landscape atop a city building required extensive engineering at the roofline, as well as careful coordination of deliveries and crane work on the street below.
