Endurance, community, and the next generation

Our team builds homes to endure so people and communities can flourish.

With this idea of endurance in mind, we have supported youth endurance sports because they are people-powered, teach about both physiological sustainability and the value of community, and develop a connection with long-term commitment in a world that floods our days with offers of instant reward. We also engage in the community more broadly where we see opportunities to meaningfully connect people and their homes, and our team members and their craft, with the world around them.

While endurance sports are frequently viewed as individual pursuits, they aren’t. Athletes are part of an ecosystem that includes family, friends, coaches, event organizers, and the occasional kind stranger. The system exists because of an invested community. The best athletes cultivate and celebrate community and remain curious, finding lessons in the world around them, and in the past, that make us all better.

When you understand the physiology and community of endurance in this way, it is much easier to understand sustainability and community in other aspects of your life.

Here we share stories about the process and experience of many years.
