A Viking Ship Over the Horizon

Word that a non-profit group in Norway was seeking volunteers to help build a replica of the Oseberg Viking Ship reached us in Acton. Why would we get involved in a volunteer effort in Norway? The ship was being built using only traditional methods and materials: hand tools forged on site and wood cut from the same forests as the original ships the vikings made. The opportunity for a Thoughtforms shop carpenter to learn something new in a unique setting was irresistible. Pete Wood, an avid sailor who travelled to Norway as a child, spent a little more than a week making a ship, and making friends. And the stories and experiences he shared when he returned energized and informed the entire crew.
