Building Bridges at Broadmoor
Mass Audubon is the largest private-holder of conservation land in Massachusetts. Their Broadmoor Sanctuary in Natick educates school groups and summer campers and hosts many other visitors in a unique refuge along the Charles River.
In 2012, we took a day away from project sites and repaired bridges and walkways that had started to wear through. In 2013, we returned to Broadmoor to work on trails and brush clearing. And in 2014, we helped complete an outdoor education shelter near the main Sanctuary building.
Apart from being a way to serve our community, we found the volunteer days allowed us to recharge our batteries and reconnect with each other away from our projects. We are looking forward to future volunteer days and helping some great conservation-focused organizations further their missions!
