Our facilities in Acton are modest. We were located in the basement of a renovated stone church until we moved next door in April 2016 to a daylit space on the second floor of the West Acton Villageworks. Today we look across the parking lot to see both our old office and our shop (in the old apple barn across from the stone church). In an effort to reduce our footprint (and because it made good financial sense) we installed a photovoltaic solar array on the roof of the shop to offset as much of our energy use as we could. If you would like to see how we are doing with respect to power generation, follow this link http://das.solardesign.com/Thoughtforms/. We explored the possibility of installing an array on the roof of the church as well but weren't able to meet the standards of the local historical commission. Perhaps there will be an opportunity to pass historical muster in the future as Sistine Solar, an MIT start-up, gets established in the market!
